My Avada – Avada Website Builder https://avada.com For WordPress & WooCommerce Sun, 24 Nov 2024 20:16:09 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.1 How To Manage Your Licenses On My Avada https://avada.com/documentation/how-to-manage-your-licenses-on-my-avada/ Mon, 15 May 2023 01:56:42 +0000 https://avada.com/?post_type=documentation&p=892458

In this document, we will look specifically at how to manage your Avada licenses. Read on, and watch the video below for a visual overview.

For privacy reasons YouTube needs your permission to be loaded.

My Avada Dashboard

On the My Avada Dashboard you can see a summary of your most recent licences from the Dashboard, as you can also add new licences directly from here, but to see and manage all your licences, head to the Licenses page.

My Avada Dashboard

Manage Licenses

Search & Filter Functionality

Let’s start by looking at the License page, and the functionality that is at the top of the page, and in each individual license.

As you can see in the screenshot below, under the Manage Licenses heading, there is search and filter functionality. You can search for an individual license by purchase code, or by domain name. Next to this you can also filter by License status (All, Available, Active, Locked). If you have many Avada licences, this search and filter funcitonality will assist you in quickly finiding the license/s you want to manage.

Individual Licenses

Under this are the individual licenses. Firstly, you can see the purchase code, the status of the license, and when it was purchased.

Below this, you can see if the purchase code is connected to a domain, and there is a link, and the domain name is listed if it is. The link, as is made clear if you mouse over it, allows you to unregister the license on the domain. You would do this if you were shutting the site down, and wanted to reuse the license on another site.

There is also a small Delete icon at the far right for each license. This is to remove the license from My Avada. You would do this if you wanted to add that license to another My Avada account, for example if you were a developer and were transferring the license to the end user.

Above and below this delete icon are Refresh links. There is a Refresh All link at the top to refresh all licenses, or you can do it individually per license, as well as refresh the main domain or a staging domain.

So if you have added a purchase code to My Avada, and it shows as Available as the second one does in the screenshot below, and then you use that purchase code on a website to register Avada and then come back here and click Refresh, you would then see that license connected to the domain, and the License showing as Active. The same is possible for a Staging domain. Please see the How To Set Up An Avada Staging Site doc for more information on this.

My Avada > Licenses

Add New License

At the top of the page is the Add New button. This is for adding new licenses to your account. Clicking on this brings up an Add License window, where just like at the registration stage, you can add an individual license or you can import your licenses from Envato.

See the Create A User Account section of the How To Register For My Avada doc for details of how this works, as it’s exactly the same from here as there.

Avada Registration and Licensing FAQ https://avada.com/documentation/avada-registration-and-licensing-faq/ Tue, 30 Mar 2021 13:53:29 +0000 https://theme-fusion.com/?post_type=documentation&p=863785

For each Avada license you purchase, you can use the individual purchase code to register a single website, as well as a staging site for that domain. You also need to register for My Avada, our support and license management portal.

Does Avada offer unlimited domain licensing?2023-05-25T08:49:30+00:00

Unfortunately, there is no provision for multi-domain licensing. Envato’s licensing terms and conditions stipulate that a regular license is required per domain install of the theme.

Does Avada offer a developer license?2023-05-25T08:29:46+00:00

Unfortunately, Envato does not provide a developer licensing option. For licensing FAQ’s please go here.

What are the terms and conditions for licensing?2023-05-25T07:48:36+00:00

Envato’s licensing terms and conditions stipulate that a regular license is required per domain install of the theme. You can also take a look at the licensing nuts and bolts.

I have a WordPress multisite installation. How many licenses do I need?2023-05-25T07:10:10+00:00

In terms of licensing, and according to Envato’s licensing terms and conditions, you need a license per domain install, regardless of whether you use a WordPress multisite install or not.

Is the Avada purchase code the same thing as a license key?2023-07-28T06:14:12+00:00

Yes, your purchase code and your license key are the same.

What is the token key grace period?2023-05-25T06:23:42+00:00

If you have updated to Avada 7.3 and have not yet re-registered your Avada website with a purchase code as explained in this help file, the Envato token key will only continue to be valid for an additional ten (10) days.

Once the ten (10) days are concluded, the Envato token key will be rendered invalid. This will not cause your site to break or to stop functioning normally. However, you will be required to register the website with a purchase code.

Will a token key work after Avada 7.3?2023-05-28T10:13:13+00:00

As of Avada 7.3 and beyond, a token key is no longer required and will not work for registration purposes. You will need to use your purchase code, which you can find on your license certificate. For any website running an Avada version prior to version 7.3, the token key used for registration will continue to work until the website is updated to Avada 7.3 or beyond.

I have multiple Avada licenses. How can I tell which license belongs to which website?2023-05-24T16:16:34+00:00

To view your registered licenses, log into your My Avada account and navigate to the Licenses page. If you have additional licenses that are not listed there, you can bulk import them from your Envato account by clicking on the “Add New” button (top right) and then selecting “Import From Envato” > https://d.pr/i/tmOqdL

Note that a top-level or staging domain is automatically listed on the licenses page when registering your Avada website.

Do I need to buy a new license if I use Avada on a sub-domain?2023-05-28T10:11:25+00:00

This will actually depend on the use case. Licenses in general, apply to the end product you use them for. Usually, this end product will be a website with a specific topic. If you use sub-domains where the topic of the site is not identical or the general design is different, then these sub-domains represent own end products, thus you will need one license per sub-domain.

Only in cases where the topic and general design of your sub-domains match the purpose of your main site, it is fine to go with one license. In the latter case, you can contact us, and after review, we can enable your license for usage with sub-domains.

Examples
Multiple sub-domains as multiple end products

Suppose you do a website where you present different branches of your business in different cities or countries. Thus, you create two different sub-domains: brancha.my-business.com and branchb.my-business.com. If the purpose of each of the sub-domain sites is a bit different or the general design is different, you have created different end products. So in this case you need one license per sub-domain.

Suppose you do a website for a retailer of apples and a retailer of pears, both hosted on your main domain. Thus, you create two different sub-domains: apple-retailer.my-grocery-hosting.com and pear-retailer.my-grocery-hosting.com. Your end products here clearly are the websites for each of the merchants, so in this case you need one license per sub-domain.

Multiple sub-domains in one end product

Suppose you do a website where you present different departments of the same local company. Thus, you create two different sub-domains: sales.my-business.com and customercare.my-business.com. If the departments are presented in a way that uses the same general design as your main site, they count towards a single end product. So in this case you don’t need extra licenses per sub-domain.

Suppose you do a website for a grocery store and among other goods, you sell apples and pears. To show your supplies, you create two different sub-domains: apples.my-grocery-store.com and pears.my-grocery-store.com. Your end product clearly is the website for the grocery store, so you only need one license.

Will I be able to set up a Staging site for testing purposes?2024-11-11T05:43:53+00:00

Yes, you can have one dedicated staging/dev/local site per license. If the domain you are working on matches one of the patterns below, our system will automatically register it as a staging site. Only domains that match the patterns below will qualify as staging sites:

TLDs – Top-level Domains (domain endings)
  • *.dev (example.dev)
  • *.local (example.local)

  • *.staging (example.staging)
  • *.test (example.test)

  • wpdev.* (wpdev.example.com)

  • *.wpdev.* (wpdev.example.com)

  • webdev.* (webdev.example.com)

  • devsite.* (devsite.example.com)

Staging domains of hosting providers
  • *.sg-host.com, stagingN.* (where N is an unsigned integer)
  • *.wpenginepowered.com, *.wpengine.com

Does a Staging site require an additional license?2023-05-24T12:09:00+00:00

No, a staging site does not require an additional license. Provided that you follow our recommendations for Staging site setups, our system will recognize it.

How many Staging sites can I set up?2023-05-24T11:32:56+00:00

You can set up one Staging site for each Avada license that you own.

I have more active Avada websites than licenses. What should I do?2023-05-24T11:24:01+00:00

Envato’s licensing terms and conditions stipulate that a regular license is required per domain install of the theme. You can purchase the required Avada licenses on Themeforest.

I need to bulk purchase Avada licenses. Can you offer me a discount?2023-05-24T11:18:32+00:00

In terms of bulk discounts, individual discounts, charitable discounts, etc., Envato does not give us the ability to discount individual purchases or provide coupons. To be alerted as to when we have our next sale event, please do sign up for our newsletter.

Can I transfer a license from my support account to my client?2023-05-24T09:58:15+00:00

Yes, you can, but only at an Avada support level. To clarify, whoever purchases the license via Themeforest is the rightful owner of the license. According to Envato, ownership of a license can’t be transferred between individuals or marketplace accounts. At an Avada support level, however, the following scenarios are possible:

  • If you have not registered the purchase code within your My Avada account, you can request that your customer registers their own My Avada account using the provided purchase code by following these instructions.
  • If the purchase code is already added to your My Avada account and you would like to pass it on to your client so that they can register their own My Avada account, you can remove the purchase code from the Licenses page by clicking the bin icon next to the relevant purchase code.
Unregister License
If I purchase an Extended License, can I use it for multiple clients or projects?2023-05-23T11:44:19+00:00

No. The Extended License is also limited to a single end product. For more information, please see the Extended License terms.

How do I unregister a license on a website I no longer have access to?2023-07-28T06:11:33+00:00

There are several reasons why you might want to unregister a website, ranging from no longer having access to your website to a registration error saying your purchase code is already being used. In these instances, you can unregister your license from the attached domain by logging in to your My Avada account, navigating to the licenses page, and clicking the unlink icon between the domain type and the domain name.

Unregister License

Note that to do that, you should first register your My Avada account if you don’t already have one. Please ensure that you add the license to your account via the licenses page.

My license has been locked, what does this mean and how can I unlock it?2023-07-28T06:11:20+00:00

Licenses can be locked if they are flagged in our system as having contravened Envato licensing. In particular this would mean the use of the same license on multiple live websites. For multiple different live websites, each should have its own license. When a license is locked, automatic updates will not work and it cannot be used to register a new website.

If your license has been locked you can request that it be unlocked via the unlock license page on My Avada. Note, that in order to do that you should first sign up for a My Avada account and ensure the license has been added to your account via the licenses page.

Avada Grandfathered Support https://avada.com/documentation/avada-grandfathered-support/ Thu, 10 Mar 2016 16:49:44 +0000 https://theme-fusion.com/documentation/grandfathered-support/

Envato started a paid initiative for item support on September 1st, 2015. Any item purchased includes 6 months of support with paid options to extend. This new policy applies to all purchases, past or present.

ThemeFusion (Avada) is fully committed to our customers, and so we took the initiative to introduce Grandfathered support for any purchases made before September 1st, 2015. Purchases made after September 1st, 2015 must follow the new paid support initiative introduced by Envato. It is important to note that paid support is an Envato initiative, while Grandfathered Support, with the agreement of Envato, is an initiative that we (ThemeFusion) created.

What Is Avada Grandfathered Support?

Grandfathered Support applies to any customer that purchased Avada BEFORE September 1, 2015. This entitles qualifying customers to continue receiving hands-on support via our system, without the need to extend or renew their support via Envato, for as long as we continue to develop and maintain Avada.

Do I Qualify For Grandfathered Support?

To qualify for Grandfathered Support, you need to have purchased a copy of Avada from ThemeForest before September 1st, 2015. Continue reading below to learn how to verify your purchase date.

How To Verify Your Purchase Date

To know if you’re qualified for Grandfathered Support, you must first verify your purchase date. Please see below for instructions on how to view the exact purchase date of your Avada license.

Step 1 – Login to your ThemeForest account and go to the Downloads tab.

Step 2 – Locate the Avada copy you’d like to verify, then download the License Certificate and Purchase Code file. You can choose to download either the .PDF or the .TXT file.

Step 3 – Inside the License Certificate and Purchase Code file, you’ll find your Purchase Date information for that particular copy of Avada.

Grandfathered Support License

Envato’s System Versus Avada’s System

It is important to note that Avada’s support system does not synchronize with Envato’s system. If you are qualified for Grandfathered Support, when you view your account on ThemeForest, you will most likely see a “Support Expired” badge because you were only eligible for support 6 months after the purchase date.

My Avada is where you will receive Grandfathered support. Register for or log in to our support site to access all support resources and our ticket system. If you have a registered license that was purchased before September 1, 2015, you will see a grandfathered badge at the top of the dashboard.

my.avada.com > Dashboard > Grandfathered Support

Need To Setup A Support Account?

Most users will already have a support account and can login at my.avada.com/login. If you do not have an account yet, please follow the steps outlined in the How To Register For Avada Support doc to get set up.

Extending And Renewing Avada Support https://avada.com/documentation/extending-and-renewing-avada-support/ Thu, 10 Mar 2016 16:29:38 +0000 https://theme-fusion.com/documentation/extending-and-renewing-envato-item-support/

Avada is much more than a WordPress theme; It is a comprehensive Website Builder used to design and build any website, from advanced online stores to minimalist blogs and anything in between. Avada is ideal for beginners, marketers, freelancers, and professionals.

With over a decade of evolution, we are proud of the fact that Avada is 100% in-house developed and maintained. This ensures that Avada is independent of 3rd party resources to deliver a pure, seamless experience for you and your website visitors.

To underpin Avada’s growth, we aspire to deliver world-class professional support in line with our support policy. On September 1, 2015, Envato introduced paid support for all items purchased on the Themeforest marketplace. You are provided with 6 months of hands-on support when you purchase a theme. When this expires, you can choose to renew the support period or extend the support before the support period expires.

How To Renew or Extend Support

To be eligible to extend or renew support, you must have less than 6 months of support remaining. The support cost is calculated as a percentage of the item price (the price paid for the item license). Please read this article for more information on Envato’s support renewal requirements.

  • 1
Log into the Themeforest marketplace account used to purchase Avada.
  • 2
Go to the Avada homepage, you will see the options to extend or renew your Avada support.
  • 3
Click on Renew or Extend, and you will be directed to a secure payment page to complete the transaction.
Renew Avada Support

How To Apply A Support Extension

As soon as you have extended or renewed your support period on Themeforest, and to ensure the support period is applied to your support account promptly, log into your Account homepage and click the blue refresh icon. Also, in the Support section, further down the page, you will see a message to refresh your support status.

Renew Avada Support
Renew Avada Support

What Happens If I Do Not Renew Support?

All that changes is that you can only access hands-on support once support is renewed. You will, however, continue to receive Avada updates, access to My Avada, including your entire support history, online documentation and video tutorials.

When Can I Renew or Extend Avada Support?

There are 3 scenarios for when you can extend or renew Avada support. The options available will depend on when you make the support purchase.

  • Support Upgrade – A support upgrade is 6 months of additional support (total of 12 months) that can be purchased at the time of buying the item (37,5% of item price)

  • Support Extension – A support extension is 6 months of support that can be purchased at any time after the initial purchase of the item, provided the current support period hasn’t expired (62,5% of item price)

  • Support Renewal – A support renewal is 6 months of support that can be purchased after any existing support for an item has expired (87,5% of item price)

Purchasing Avada To Access Support

If you purchase a new Avada license, it automatically includes 6 months of hands-on professional support. Make sure to register your purchase codes within your My Avada account. This ensures that the support period is applied to your Avada support account.

Are You Eligible For Avada Grandfathered Support?

Envato introduced paid support on September 1, 2015, which applies to all themes purchased on the Themeforest marketplace. As a result, we decided at that time to allocate Grandfathered support status to anyone who purchased Avada before September 1, 2015. Grandfathered support means free support for life.

Avada License Information https://avada.com/documentation/avada-license-information/ Mon, 27 Apr 2015 19:12:26 +0000 https://theme-fusion.com/documentation/licensing/

When purchasing Avada via the Themeforest marketplace, you have two licensing options; the Regular License, and the Extended License. The regular license will suffice for 99% of users. The purchasing process, invoicing, and licensing are facilitated by Envato. Below, we have listed the nuts and bolts of the Regular License for you as a quick reference and a section on how to transfer a License.

To learn more about what each License is for, we strongly recommend reading Themeforest’s official licensing terms.

The Nuts and Bolts of the Regular License

Things you can do

  • The Regular License grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, worldwide license to make use of Avada.
  • You are licensed to use Avada to create one single website (end product), for yourself or for one client.
  • That website is an end product, created through customization within Avada, which requires an application of skill and effort to be created.

  • You can create one website (end product) for a client, and you can transfer that single website (end product) to your client for any fee. This license is then transferred to your client.
  • You can use Avada and can combine it with other works and plugins to create your single website (end product), which is subject to the terms of the license. You can do these things as long as the end product you then create is one that’s permitted by the license.

Things you can’t do

  • You can’t sell the website (end product) to more than one client.
  • You can’t re-distribute Avada as stock, in a tool or template, or with source files.

  • Although you can modify Avada and therefore change components before creating your single website (end product), you can’t extract and use a single component of Avada on a stand-alone basis.
  • You must not permit an end user of the website (end product) to extract Avada and use it separately from the website (end product).

  • You can’t use the Avada or ThemeFusion logo, or any trademarks associated with ThemeFusion.
